Surface Rights

Surface Access jurisdiction by the Appeal Tribunal include applications for the issuance, amendments and termination of Right of Entry Orders and disputes on Metis Settlements.

Types of surface access disputes include:

• Oil and gas development on Settlement lands
• Issuance and amendment of Compensation Orders, including the review of rate of compensation

All applications or disputes are heard and decisions are made by the Land Access Panel or the Existing Leases Land Access Panel.
